Yesterday I listened to an interesting teleconference call featuring Duane Elgin. His talk was on 4 stunning ideas he wanted to share - here’s a link to his home page: http://www.awakeningearth.org/
1) We are Giants. He said if you take a cosmic ruler that ran from the largest farthest star in outer space down to the littlest tiniest quantum particle, we humans would be about in the middle or a little to the big side on that cosmic scale. In other words there are more things we are bigger than smaller. It flips the view that we are tiny insignificant beings in a huge universe of stars, galaxies, etc. Also he stressed the point that as large beings we might tend to overlook what’s happening down at the tiny level and it would behoove us to pay attention because the universe is very busy doing stuff at this level. http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/cosmic/cosmic.html
2) We're almost entirely invisible. Scientists are now highly confident that about 96% of the known universe is invisible, undetectable it's called dark matter and dark energy. So that means the visible stuff - us, the planets, the stars comprise of only 4%. The question is how much of us is comprised in that invisible structure. We may not only be giants, most of our body may be part of that invisible structure too - dark matter, dark energy.
3) We're just getting started. We may have thought we're at the pinnacle of evolution, the culmination of evolution, now scientists are telling us that the universe is infinitely open, there's an infinite number of dimensions. Dimension is the structure of the universe and there's no reality without dimensionality. We're not living in the 3000th dimension, nor the 300th, or the 30th dimension. We are living in the 3rd dimension - about 2 levels up from a black hole. This means we've just crawled out of the constricted reality of a black hole. It's humbling to see that there's likely an immense amount of openness, freedom beyond this constricted domain. We're just getting this party started.
4) We can connect with the Universe with our direct knowing. Paranormal is normal. That's just the way the invisible part of the universe is wired. We all have access to his because we're part of this extraordinary universe.
We thought we were small creatures in a material universe, at the peak of the evolutionary wave with the ability to think, and basically alone in this huge space. Now we see a different view, we're giants, living in a mostly invisible universe (most of us may be invisible, too) we're just getting started on our evolutionary journey, and we can reach through with our consciousness into that invisible side.
What’s more, the things he says resonate the truth for me. Things I have thought about, little facts I have collected, were all scattered and I didn’t know how to put it together. For me, he puts them together in one big cohesive picture.

To elaborate, as giants we're essentially flow-through beings with the life energy of the universe flowing thourgh us. We're giants on the cosmic scale of material things and we're cosmic in dimension in terms of the flow of life energy through us, we're also beings that have everyday lives.
Another interesting idea he described was the tension, push and pull we all feel daily. He looks at it this way - There's a horizontal tension and a vertical tension.
The horizontal tension is the daily enfolding of life, business of everyday world moving down our evolutionary path.
Then the vertical tension, if you will, is that no matter what's happening in the moment, the entire universe is being recreated frshly, at every moment - that vertical slicing through is what all the world's spiritual traditons try to talk about - > if we are paying attention or if we are aware in that moment where the vertical slicing through occurs and see that creation is actually happening - that's our miracles.
There's the tension with the SOUL engaging in the vertical, and the EGO engaging with the horizontal results in CREATIVE TENSION.
Another topic discussed: Direct Knowing. Assume that the universe is holographic and is being recreated moment by moment and you take that as a valid assumtion - you can go into your direct experience that you have access into the wisdom that's recreating the entire universe at that moment (I believe from my own experience, we have that access since we are co-creators).
Now this takes extrordinary levels of precision, concentration & surrender to relax into that knowing it also takes a huge amount of trust, the surrender of the thinking mind to come into the direct experience and bring whatever intuitive questions, curiosity, inquiry we might have in a direct openess to a welcoming universe, a universe of profound freedom. We can do it any way we can concieve of, but we have to claim it for ourselves.
